— /vɐ̃w̃/ — noun, Portuguese — gap, span, void; the open space between two structures.
There's a bittersweet beauty in the city, in the spaces between concrete and steel. Not always chosen, but somehow home too. These photographs are my attempt to find breathing room within it: the gap, the pause, the quiet inside something so busy.
— /kaˈmiɲu/ — noun, Portuguese — path, way; a route traveled on foot.
In a sense, I've always felt at home outdoors, a path back to myself. Spending time in the wild brings me back to a place of retreat and reconnection, reflected in the photos from these brief moments of transit, that for a while, bring me home.
— /maˈɾɛ/ — noun, Portuguese — tide; the rhythmic rise and fall of the sea.
The movement of returning to one's origin. The sea is one of my passions, a presence deeply rooted in my upbringing. Whenever I have the chance, I try to capture and bring back memories from a place of joy, the coast.
